INTERIORS

This work stems from the earlier ‘Home’ project, which concerned the allegory of life as a journey leading to home. I photographed model houses in studio dioramas to disorient the viewer and create doubts about the nature of any supposedly perfect destination.

In the ‘Interiors’ series, I’ve brought the viewer inside the idealized but timeworn ‘Home’. I see this place of waning light and indistinct features as marked by the same contradictions found in the exterior views, hinting at the metaphysical while weighted with messy realities of existence.

In presenting ethereal rooms that shimmer between credible and incredible, remarkable and mundane, I’m interested in evoking both skepticism and wonder at the journey’s end.
