Daylight
A rusting dollhouse is a world of make-believe with its own quirky authority; the fakery of room details can offer a convincing enough invitation to pretend. The familiar play of daylight can bestow an even greater credibility on these counterfeit rooms.
Ironically, that very daylight is busily exposing the slots and tabs of dollhouse construction and unmasking the just-adequate bits of trompe l’oeil.
