This work stems from the earlier ‘Home’ project, which concerned the allegory of life as a journey leading to home. I photographed model houses in studio dioramas to disorient the viewer and create doubts about the nature of any supposedly perfect destination.
In the ‘Interiors’ series, I’ve brought the viewer inside the idealized but timeworn ‘Home’. It's a place of indistinct features, marked by the same contradictions found in the exterior views. Ethereal rooms that hint at the metaphysical, they're also weighted with the messy realities of existence.
I want these places to shimmer between credible and incredible, remarkable and mundane. I'm interested in evoking both skepticism and wonder at the journey's end.
